Alibaba Cloud is expanding its global cloud infrastructure and launching new AI solutions as enterprises move from AI experimentation toward production-scale applications.
The company announced at the 2026 Apsara Conference that it will establish its first cloud regions in Türkiye, Finland, and the Netherlands over the next 12 months, while expanding data center capacity in Malaysia, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, France, and Hong Kong. Alibaba Cloud currently operates 107 availability zones across 31 regions.
The expansion is designed to bring computing resources closer to customers while supporting localized cloud and AI services. Alibaba Cloud is also positioning its infrastructure around an Agent-Native Cloud architecture as enterprises adopt AI agents and multi-model applications.
New AI tools for enterprise deployment
Alibaba Cloud introduced three AI solutions aimed at helping businesses develop and scale production applications.
Smart Studio enables businesses to build branded Model-as-a-Service (MaaS) platforms, including tools for packaging, pricing, metering, and billing model APIs. Alibaba Cloud says its inference architecture can deliver up to 505% higher throughput than standard open-source frameworks on the same hardware.
Smart Fusion is designed to coordinate multiple AI models through a unified API. It can select suitable models for different tasks and, according to Alibaba Cloud, potentially reduce token spending by around 50% by optimizing multi-model deployment.
Smart Video is an AI video agent aimed at short-drama studios and advertisers. It can generate videos of up to one hour from a single prompt and supports multiple video models, including Wan, as well as more than 20 languages.
Enterprise AI deployments
Alibaba Cloud also highlighted collaborations demonstrating how its AI infrastructure and Qwen models are being used across industries.
Panasonic Digital (Shanghai) is using Alibaba Cloud’s Model Studio, Qwen, DataWorks, MaxCompute, and Hologres to develop AI agents for manufacturing, supply chain, and corporate functions. Alibaba Cloud reports an 80% reduction in documentation time and a 10-fold increase in contract review efficiency through automated workflows.
Unity China is using Model Studio and Qwen models for Tuanjie AI-Codely, an AI-native engineering platform designed to automate code comprehension, editing, debugging, and collaboration for game development.
In logistics, Lion Parcel deployed the Qwen-VL-Plus model through Model Studio to automate document processing and reduce manual data transcription.
Meanwhile, Loomi Entertainment Group has integrated Alibaba’s Wan and HappyHorse visual generation models into its Imaginary cinematic AI engine to support AI-generated video and visual content.
Alibaba Cloud is also working with SHAKE to develop agentic resource planning solutions for small and medium-sized businesses using Qwen models and Alibaba Cloud computing infrastructure.
Separately, AnyMind Group is integrating Qwen into AnyLive, its AI-powered live-commerce platform. The integration is designed to improve customer-intent analysis and generate more contextually relevant responses across Asian languages.
The expanded infrastructure and AI services reflect Alibaba Cloud’s push to make AI deployment more accessible across enterprise applications, while giving businesses additional computing capacity and tools for developing agentic and multimodal AI systems.
