AMD has announced the appointment of Vinay Awasthi as Senior Vice President of Sales for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), strengthening the company’s regional leadership amid growing demand for AI and high-performance computing solutions.
Based in Singapore, Awasthi will oversee AMD’s regional sales strategy and execution across APJ, focusing on customer engagement, OEM and channel partnerships, and go-to-market alignment across cloud, enterprise, AI, commercial, and consumer markets.
Awasthi joins AMD with more than 20 years of technology industry leadership experience. Prior to AMD, he served as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Compute Sales at Qualcomm. He also spent over two decades at HP Inc., where he held several senior regional and global leadership roles.
In a statement, Awasthi said AMD’s expanding portfolio of AI and computing technologies presents major growth opportunities across the Asia-Pacific region, adding that he aims to strengthen collaboration with customers and partners to accelerate innovation and market expansion.
Darren Grasby welcomed the appointment, highlighting Awasthi’s leadership experience and customer-focused approach as key assets for AMD’s continued regional growth.
AMD said the appointment reflects its ongoing investment in APJ markets and its strategy to expand ecosystem partnerships as demand for AI infrastructure, accelerated computing, and enterprise technology solutions continues to rise globally.
