A new consumer study commissioned by EastWest Ageas reveals growing financial concerns among Filipinos, with rising living costs and healthcare expenses prompting greater interest in insurance-based financial planning solutions.

According to the PURPLE Report, conducted by global consumer intelligence firm NielsenIQ, 8 out of 10 Filipinos are worried about securing their financial future amid inflation. The study also found that most Filipinos maintain only around ₱50,000 in emergency savings, a figure that may be insufficient as medical costs are projected to increase by 16%.

The report highlights a shift in consumer behavior, with Filipinos increasingly viewing insurance as a strategic financial tool rather than simply a safety net. Respondents cited value for money, long-term coverage, and critical illness protection as top priorities when selecting insurance products.

To address these evolving needs, EastWest Ageas is expanding its portfolio of financial protection solutions under its PURPLE Solutions program. Among these is Dream Builder, a long-term insurance plan offering up to 20 years of coverage, guaranteed cash payouts, simplified benefits, and flexible premium payment options.

The company said it continues to develop customer-focused solutions aimed at helping Filipinos build financial resilience and better prepare for unexpected life events, particularly health-related emergencies.
