Representatives from EastWest and JCI Manila join the ten awardees of the 5th Ten Outstanding Guro Awards (TOGA 2026) in celebrating excellence in education. The annual recognition honors Filipino educators for their outstanding contributions to teaching, innovation, and community development across the country.

East West Banking Corporation (EastWest) reinforced its commitment to education and financial inclusion by serving as the exclusive bank partner of JCI Manila’s 5th Ten Outstanding Guro Awards (TOGA 2026) while expanding its financial literacy initiatives for Filipino educators.

Held at PHINMA Plaza in Makati City, TOGA 2026 recognized ten exceptional teachers from across the Philippines for their dedication, innovation, and service in advancing quality education. Among the honorees were Leticia C. Dela Cruz of Navotas, Ryan Capilitan Tura of Cagayan de Oro, and Jerrypol Casil Palma of Isabela, alongside seven other educators making significant contributions in their respective communities.

Beyond honoring educators, EastWest continues to invest in financial empowerment through GuroWAIS, a financial literacy program launched by EastWest Rural Bank in 2025. Developed specifically for teachers, the initiative covers practical topics such as budgeting, savings, income management, and long-term financial planning in partnership with JCI Manila and local Department of Education offices.

EastWest CEO Jerry Ngo and EastWest Rural Bank President Sheila Marasigan-Bajado congratulate the recipients of the 5th Ten Outstanding Guro Awards (TOGA 2026), honoring their exceptional dedication to education while reaffirming EastWest’s commitment to supporting Filipino teachers through recognition and financial literacy initiatives.

“Teachers are nation builders. Recognizing and supporting educators is one of the most meaningful ways to strengthen families, communities, and ultimately, the future of the Philippines,” said EastWest CEO Jerry Ngo.

The bank said GuroWAIS has already benefited hundreds of teachers nationwide, reflecting its broader mission of promoting financial resilience and inclusion through education-focused community programs.

JCI Manila President Edison Ke and EastWest CEO Jerry Ngo lead the ceremonial signing of EastWest’s sponsorship for the 5th Ten Outstanding Guro Awards (TOGA 2026), reaffirming their shared commitment to recognizing exceptional Filipino educators and advancing financial literacy initiatives for the teaching community.
