Epson is advancing industrial automation with precision robotics technologies designed to help manufacturers increase production speed without sacrificing accuracy or product quality.

Leveraging its expertise in quartz crystal technology and micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), Epson has developed ultra-compact Gyro Sensors that detect and compensate for vibration in real time. Installed directly on robotic arms, the sensors enable automated systems to maintain precision during high-speed operations, reducing defects and improving manufacturing efficiency.

The technology addresses a growing need among Philippine manufacturers, particularly in electronics, semiconductor assembly, medical devices, and automotive components, where precision is critical to maintaining global competitiveness. By minimizing vibration, manufacturers can improve product consistency, reduce downtime, and optimize production lines.

Epson is also expanding its robotics portfolio with force-sensing technology available on selected SCARA and 6-axis robots. These sensors allow robots to detect pressure and adjust movements in real time, enabling delicate assembly tasks and the handling of fragile components with greater accuracy.

According to Epson Philippines President and Director Masako Kusama, the company’s robotics innovations are designed to help manufacturers improve productivity while maintaining high-quality standards. Epson said its continued investments in robotics, sensing, and precision engineering aim to support smarter, more efficient manufacturing as industries accelerate their automation efforts.
