Manulife Philippines and Manulife China Bank Life have introduced Manulife GoalReady for Health, a new investment-linked savings plan that combines critical illness coverage with life insurance protection for Filipino customers.
The newly launched product is designed to help Filipinos prepare financially for rising healthcare costs while continuing to build long-term savings and investment funds. The plan offers protection against serious illnesses while allowing policyholders to grow their savings through professionally managed investment-linked fund options.
According to the companies, the product addresses growing concerns about financial preparedness for health emergencies in the Philippines. Data cited from the recent Manulife Asia Care Study showed that around four in five Filipinos believe financial wellbeing strongly impacts both their physical and mental health, as well as overall lifespan.
The companies also highlighted the financial burden of healthcare expenses in the country. A study on the economic impact of cancer in the Philippines showed patients spend an average of ₱181,789 out-of-pocket within the first year of diagnosis, while data from the Philippine Statistics Authority indicated that household out-of-pocket medical spending reached 42.7 percent.
Rahul Hora said the product aims to help customers protect both their health and long-term financial goals from unexpected medical events.
GoalReady for Health provides coverage up to age 75 and includes protection for 112 critical illness conditions across early-stage, advanced-stage, and child critical illness categories. Covered conditions include cancer, heart disease, and stroke.
The plan also offers access to diversified global and local investment funds designed to match different financial goals and risk profiles.
Meanwhile, Amy Gochuico said the partnership with China Bank aims to make long-term protection and savings solutions more accessible to Filipinos nationwide.
GoalReady for Health is now available through Manulife financial advisors and Manulife China Bank Life sales associates across Chinabank and China Bank Savings branches nationwide.
