Smart Communications recorded a zero-percent call drop ratio in the latest real-world quality-of-service tests conducted by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) in Metro Manila, highlighting the reliability of its mobile voice services.
The NTC drive tests also recorded peak mobile broadband speeds of 377 Mbps along San Francisco Street in Mandaluyong City. Smart’s call drop ratio met the regulator’s prescribed threshold of below 2%.
The results underscore Smart’s continued efforts to strengthen network performance and improve the mobile experience for customers. The company said it remains committed to working with the NTC to assess network quality and address areas requiring improvement.
“Our zero-percent call drop ratio in the latest NTC tests is a positive result for voice-call reliability,” said Debbie Hu, FVP and Head of Network Build and Implementation at PLDT and Smart.
Smart also cited the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s (DICT) September 2026 Oplan Bantay Signal report, where it maintained a “Good” overall network performance rating with a score of 80.3 and an average download speed of 52.22 Mbps. The report identified Smart as the fastest mobile network under that assessment, with all measured cities exceeding 15 Mbps and zero crisis cities nationwide for the fifth consecutive month.
Additionally, connectivity intelligence firm Ookla recognized Smart for delivering the Philippines’ Best Mobile Video Experience in the first half of 2026, awarding it a Video Score of 72.82.
The latest assessments highlight the role of mobile network performance in supporting voice communications, broadband connectivity, and video streaming across the country.
