Global verification and fraud prevention firm Sumsub has entered a strategic partnership with Go Digital Philippines to strengthen digital trust, secure identity systems, and responsible AI adoption in the Philippines.
The collaboration comes as the country prepares for its ASEAN 2026 Chairship, positioning the Philippines as a potential regional leader in trusted digital infrastructure and governance. The initiative aligns with ongoing efforts by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to build a secure and inclusive digital economy.

At the core of the partnership is a multi-pronged strategy focused on enhancing digital identity verification, strengthening fraud prevention frameworks, and promoting responsible use of artificial intelligence. By combining Sumsub’s global expertise with local policy and industry collaboration, the initiative aims to raise trust standards across online services, fintech platforms, and digital payments ecosystems.
The partnership also extends beyond the Philippines, with both organizations contributing to the ASEAN AI Workstream under the ASEAN Business Advisory Council. Key areas of focus include cross-border payment interoperability, AI-driven fraud detection, secure data sharing, and compliance models to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the region.
To support its long-term commitment, Sumsub is expanding its local presence, investing in on-the-ground teams and building partnerships with Philippine stakeholders such as Nexus Technologies. These efforts aim to improve responsiveness to evolving regulatory requirements and emerging fraud risks while co-developing solutions tailored to the local market.
The partnership was formally launched during the Sumsub Digital Trust and AI Governance Forum held in Manila on April 14. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Sumsub and Go Digital Philippines, witnessed by representatives from key institutions including the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center and the British Embassy Manila.
The alliance underscores a broader push to align private-sector innovation with government-led digital transformation efforts, with a focus on building a secure, inclusive, and resilient digital ecosystem. As AI adoption accelerates, the partnership highlights the growing importance of governance frameworks and trust infrastructure in sustaining the Philippines’ digital growth.
