TCL has officially inaugurated its new TCL Air Conditioner Guangzhou Smart Manufacturing Base in Nansha, Guangzhou, marking a major milestone in the company’s push toward AI-driven manufacturing and sustainable industrial operations.

The launch event, themed “Beyond 100 Million, Innovating a Smarter Future,” also celebrated TCL Air Conditioner’s production milestone of 100 million units in just five years. The company said the new facility is expected to generate an output value of 3 billion yuan by 2026, with plans to surpass 10 billion yuan within the next five years while creating over 10,000 jobs across its ecosystem.

The smart manufacturing base features AI-powered production systems, three fully flexible “dark factories,” 15 advanced laboratories, and 10 intelligent production lines capable of producing one air conditioner every seven seconds. TCL said the facility is supported by a supercomputing center capable of 300 quintillion operations per second, enabling real-time coordination of more than 2,000 AI agents and 17,000 IoT sensors.

A major highlight of the facility is its AI-enabled ultra-high-precision heat exchanger production line, which uses robotics and automation to improve labor efficiency by 41.7%. The factory’s unmanned production system uses AI for self-perception, self-decision-making, and self-scheduling, positioning the site as a global benchmark for intelligent air conditioner manufacturing.

Beyond automation, TCL is also emphasizing sustainability. The Guangzhou base integrates a zero-carbon production system powered by 50,000 square meters of photovoltaic coverage and energy storage systems. According to TCL, AI-driven energy management helps save approximately 2,081 tons of standard coal annually while supporting near-zero waste and emissions operations.

On the consumer side, TCL highlighted its AI-powered FreshIN air conditioners, which focus on AI sleep, AI comfort, and AI fresh air technologies. The system uses millimeter-wave radar and AI algorithms to optimize sleep conditions through adaptive temperature control and fresh air circulation.

Currently, TCL Air Conditioner products are sold in more than 160 countries and regions, with the company ranking among the top global players in air conditioner exports and sales volume. TCL said the Guangzhou Smart Manufacturing Base will strengthen its global supply chain and accelerate the development of AI-enabled smart home technologies.
