VITRO Inc. has partnered with BBIX Philippines Inc. to establish a direct peering connection between BBIX and the VITRO Internet Exchange (VIX), strengthening the Philippines’ digital infrastructure and improving internet performance nationwide.
The collaboration introduces a 100G network-to-network interconnection at VITRO Makati 2, enabling faster and more efficient traffic exchange between networks. Through direct peering, enterprises connected to both BBIX and VIX can benefit from reduced latency, optimized routing, and improved access to cloud services, content platforms, and digital applications.
VIX contributes its extensive local ecosystem, reaching over 98 million internet users in the Philippines through VITRO’s carrier-neutral data centers. Meanwhile, BBIX brings its global peering network and ecosystem of cloud providers, CDNs, and technology platforms to improve regional and international content delivery.
According to VITRO Chief Commercial Officer Gary F. Ignacio, the partnership aims to create more seamless and responsive online experiences for Filipinos by strengthening network traffic exchange and digital accessibility.
BBIX Philippines General Manager Toya Oba added that the initiative supports the company’s mission of bridging the digital divide across the country by bringing reliable internet exchange services closer to users.
The partnership reflects the growing demand for stronger internet exchange infrastructure as cloud adoption, digital services, and data consumption continue to accelerate across the Philippines.
