Acer has entered the next generation of portable PC gaming with the launch of the Predator Atlas 8, a high-performance gaming handheld powered by Intel’s new Arc G-Series processors and designed to deliver desktop-class gaming experiences on the go.

The Predator Atlas 8 (PA08-I51) combines Windows 11 flexibility, Xbox Game Pass integration, and advanced graphics technologies in a compact handheld form factor. At its core are Intel Arc G3 Extreme and Intel Arc G3 processors, paired with up to Intel Arc B390 graphics, bringing support for ray tracing and AI-powered Intel XeSS 3 upscaling technology to enhance visual quality while maintaining smooth frame rates.

Acer says the handheld is engineered for serious gamers seeking portable performance without sacrificing battery life. The device features an optional 80Wh battery and Intel Endurance Gaming technology, which dynamically balances performance and power consumption to extend gameplay sessions.

One of the standout innovations is Acer’s new Predator AeroBlade cooling system, marking the first use of a metal AeroBlade fan in a gaming handheld. The ultra-thin 89-blade fan works alongside a secondary cooling fan and Vortex Flow airflow design to improve heat dissipation and maintain sustained performance during demanding gaming sessions.

The Predator Atlas 8 also delivers a premium visual experience through its 8-inch WUXGA touchscreen display. Featuring a 120Hz refresh rate, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support, 500 nits of brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, the screen is designed to provide smooth gameplay and improved visibility in various environments.

For audio and communication, the handheld includes DTS Ultra-powered dual speakers and dual microphones enhanced by Acer PurifiedVoice AI noise reduction technology, ensuring clearer in-game communication and immersive sound.

Connectivity features include dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and UHS-II microSD support for high-speed storage expansion. The device also introduces PredatorSense to Acer’s handheld lineup, allowing gamers to monitor system performance, adjust settings, customize RGB lighting, and optimize gameplay with dedicated controls.

Running Windows 11 and bundled with Xbox Game Pass subscriptions, the Predator Atlas 8 provides access to hundreds of PC and cloud-based games while offering the flexibility of a full PC environment. The launch highlights Acer’s strategy to compete in the rapidly growing handheld gaming market by combining AI-enhanced graphics, advanced cooling technology, and PC-grade gaming performance in a portable device.
