CIBI’s credit data platform uses real-time information to help financial institutions assess more Filipinos and expand access to formal financial services.
CIBI Information, Inc. (CIBI) has received the Financial Inclusion Award at the Asian Banking & Finance Awards 2026 for the second consecutive year, recognizing its technology-driven approach to expanding access to financial services.
At the center of CIBI’s efforts is its Advanced Tier (AT) platform, which supports more than 1,091 institutions, 269 million tradelines, and over 60 million scorable Filipinos. The platform enables financial institutions to use credit information for borrower onboarding, portfolio monitoring, reassessment, and risk management.
CIBI’s platform incorporates real-time credit data from the government-mandated Credit Information Corporation (CIC), including data contributed by rural banks, cooperatives, and fintech lenders. By bringing these sources together, the system can create more comprehensive credit profiles based on a wider range of financial activity.
The technology addresses a persistent financial inclusion challenge in the Philippines. A Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) study cited by CIBI indicates that more than half of Filipinos remain unbanked, while many have limited visibility within formal credit systems.
As digital lending, Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL), fintech, and microfinance services expand, broader and more representative credit data can help financial institutions evaluate borrowers beyond traditional credit histories.
CIBI said it will continue expanding its data ecosystem and developing solutions designed to help more Filipinos establish verifiable credit profiles and participate in the formal financial system.
