Converge ICT Solutions Inc. is strengthening its network-level defenses against harmful online content, blocking nearly 12 billion entry requests to websites hosting dangerous, inappropriate, and prohibited material in 2025.
The fiber broadband provider also blacklisted more than 72,000 domains and web addresses associated with prohibited content that attempted to pass through its network.
“We have always taken a hard line position against dangerous and illicit content that harms the most vulnerable in our society, especially our children,” said Converge CEO Dennis Anthony Uy.
Uy said the company continues to invest in cybersecurity and network defense technologies to protect customers from harmful content and emerging cyber threats.
Converge works with government and global organizations
Converge said its online safety efforts include coordination with Philippine government agencies such as the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC), and Philippine National Police (PNP).
The company also works with international organizations, including the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), to help prevent illicit online activities, including content involving extreme violence.
According to Uy, Converge follows due process when blocking harmful websites in line with its Human Rights Policy.
The company also implements a Child Online Safeguarding Policy, aimed at protecting children from cyber threats, online exploitation, and violence.
As harmful online content and cyber threats continue to evolve, Converge said it will maintain its collaboration with government and industry stakeholders to strengthen internet safety across the Philippines.
