DRIVING DIGITAL PROGRESS. Officials from Danao City and Converge Global Business formalized a partnership aimed at accelerating the city’s digital transformation and Smart City initiatives. Converge ICT Solutions has partnered with the local government of Danao City to strengthen the city’s digital infrastructure and accelerate its transformation into a smart city through high-capacity enterprise internet services.
Under the agreement, Converge Global Business—the enterprise and corporate arm of Converge—will provide Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) as the primary connectivity backbone for Danao City’s government operations. The enterprise-grade fiber network is expected to improve communication, secure data management, and enhance digital public services across government departments.
Mayor Ramon “Nito” Durano III said the city began investing heavily in digital infrastructure in 2023 to create a more connected and empowered community. So far, 27 out of 42 barangays have been connected with internet access, with the city targeting full connectivity within the year.
Converge Global Business said the partnership reflects its broader commitment to supporting digital transformation initiatives in the public sector through scalable and reliable connectivity solutions. The collaboration is also expected to support future smart city technologies and modernized government systems in Danao City.
Shion Canen emphasized that stronger digital foundations are essential for more efficient public service, while Jaive Joseph B. Roble noted that reliable connectivity will help improve operational efficiency and citizen services.
The partnership marks another step in expanding digital transformation initiatives among Philippine local government units as cities continue investing in fiber connectivity, smart governance, and technology-driven public services.
