Ford Motor Company is seeing strong momentum in the Philippines’ electrified vehicle segment with the Ford Territory Hybrid, which surpassed 1,000 units sold within three months of its launch—signaling growing consumer interest in practical hybrid mobility solutions.

The model’s early success highlights a broader shift toward fuel-efficient and lower-emission vehicles, particularly among first-time hybrid adopters who are not yet ready to transition to fully electric vehicles due to limited charging infrastructure.

At the core of the Territory Hybrid is a 1.5L turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor and a dedicated hybrid transmission, delivering a combined fuel efficiency of up to 19.6 km/l. The system uses regenerative braking and energy capture to recharge the battery automatically, eliminating the need for external charging—an advantage in markets where EV infrastructure is still developing.

Owners cite the vehicle’s quiet operation, reduced fuel costs, and environmental benefits as key reasons for switching from traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. The hybrid system also enables a driving range of up to 1,000 kilometers per tank, making it suitable for both city commutes and long-distance travel.

Beyond efficiency, the Territory Hybrid integrates smart driving technologies, including multiple drive modes (Eco, Normal, Sport) that adapt performance to road conditions. Its spacious interior, safety features, and connected infotainment systems position it as a tech-forward option in the mid-size SUV category.

Industry observers note that hybrid vehicles are emerging as a transitional technology in Southeast Asia’s mobility landscape—bridging the gap between conventional vehicles and fully electric models. By combining familiar fueling systems with electrification benefits, hybrids offer a more accessible entry point into sustainable transportation.

With competitive pricing and promotional offers, Ford is further positioning the Territory Hybrid as a mainstream option for Filipino consumers seeking a balance between performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
