From L-R: Antonio Ballera, MIS Head, 8990 Housing Development Corporation; Roan Torregoza, CFO, 8990 Housing Development Corporation; Gary Ignacio, Chief Commercial Officer, VITRO Inc.; and Jay Lagdameo, Vice President & Head of Domestic Enterprise Business, Regional & Commercial, PLDT Enterprise—highlighting strengthened collaboration in building secure, resilient, and always-on IT infrastructure for mission-critical operations.

VITRO Inc., the data center arm of PLDT, has strengthened its long-term partnership with 8990 Housing Development Corporation to enhance business continuity and disaster resilience through advanced colocation services.

The collaboration supports 8990 HDC’s expanding nationwide operations by hosting its critical systems—including its Real Estate ERP and Document Management platforms—within VITRO’s secure data center facilities. Initially deployed at VITRO Cebu in 2019, the infrastructure was expanded in 2025 to include VITRO Makati 2, enabling a more robust business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) strategy.

By centralizing systems in geographically distributed, carrier-neutral data centers, the setup ensures uninterrupted access, real-time data synchronization, and high system availability across all sales offices nationwide. This architecture proved critical during major disruptions in 2025, including Typhoon Odette and multiple earthquakes in Visayas and Mindanao, where 8990 HDC maintained full operational continuity.

The partnership reflects a broader trend among enterprises adopting colocation and hybrid infrastructure strategies to safeguard mission-critical workloads against environmental and operational risks. For industries like real estate, where uptime directly impacts sales and customer engagement, resilient IT systems have become essential.

VITRO, under PLDT Enterprise, positions its data centers as more than physical hosting facilities—offering integrated connectivity, security, and scalability to support digital transformation. The company emphasizes “always-on” infrastructure, ensuring clients can operate seamlessly even during unforeseen disruptions.

As Philippine enterprises accelerate digital adoption, the VITRO–8990 HDC partnership highlights how modern data center ecosystems are enabling traditional industries to scale efficiently while maintaining resilience in an increasingly unpredictable environment.
