Fortinet has expanded its FortiGate G Series portfolio with the launch of the FortiGate 3500G and FortiGate 400G, two next-generation firewalls designed to secure AI-driven workloads, encrypted traffic, and distributed enterprise networks.

Powered by Fortinet’s NP7 and SP5 processors and the FortiOS operating system, the new appliances combine hardware-accelerated performance with AI-powered threat detection to help organizations protect hybrid data center, cloud, and edge environments without sacrificing network speed.

A key addition is native shadow AI detection, which provides real-time visibility into unauthorized AI application usage while enforcing policies to safeguard sensitive data. The devices also leverage FortiGuard AI-Powered Security Services and the upcoming FortiOS 8.0, which introduces expanded inspection of AI-related traffic through MCP and agent-to-agent traffic analysis for improved visibility and control.

The FortiGate 3500G targets high-performance data centers, offering 400Gb connectivity, advanced ASIC acceleration, and hardware-level security validation to support AI infrastructure, zero-trust architectures, and growing east-west network traffic.

Meanwhile, the FortiGate 400G is designed for enterprise edge deployments, enabling organizations to modernize branch and distributed networks with hardware-accelerated security, integrated threat intelligence, and simplified upgrades from existing FortiGate platforms.

According to Fortinet Founder, Chairman, and CEO Ken Xie, organizations modernizing for AI require security platforms that deliver both performance and protection at scale. The expanded FortiGate G Series aims to simplify network architectures while securing AI deployments from the data center to the enterprise edge.

The new platforms are integrated into the Fortinet Security Fabric, which combines FortiOS, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiGuard Labs threat intelligence to provide centralized management, AI-driven security analytics, and faster threat detection while reducing operational complexity.
