ABTC 2026 will be held from August 19–21, 2026, at the Mövenpick Hotel & Convention Centre KLIA, Sepang, Malaysia. The conference is supported by industry partners and sponsors including Ampace, Siemens, Green Tenaga, KGC/MTI, Neware, Arbin Instruments, UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE), Pyrogen, and EVC.

Malaysia will host the 4th ASEAN Battery Technology Conference (ABTC 2026) from August 19 to 21, 2026, at the Mövenpick Hotel & Convention Centre KLIA in Sepang, bringing together industry leaders, researchers, policymakers, and investors to accelerate battery technology development and industrialization across Southeast Asia.

Organized by NanoMalaysia Berhad (NMB), the conference will carry the theme “Industrialising Battery Technologies: Strengthening ASEAN’s Battery Value Chain for Global Competitiveness.” The event aims to support ASEAN’s growing role in the global battery economy as demand rises for electric vehicles (EVs), renewable energy storage systems, and battery-powered technologies.

Building on previous editions in Bali, Singapore, and Phuket, ABTC 2026 will focus on strengthening regional manufacturing capabilities, battery safety standards, investment readiness, integrated supply chains, and commercial deployment of advanced battery technologies. The conference reflects Malaysia’s broader push toward clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and industrial innovation.

“Through ABTC 2026, NMB is proud to welcome regional and international stakeholders to Malaysia as we work together to strengthen ASEAN’s battery industry and support its long-term competitiveness,” said Prof. (Adj.) Dr. Rezal Khairi Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer of NMB Group.

The three-day conference will feature technical sessions and panel discussions covering battery manufacturing, energy storage, recycling and circularity, policy development, and emerging battery technologies. International experts from the University of Chicago and Argonne National Laboratory, together with regional organizations including A*STAR, Pertamina, MARii, SEDA, and the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP), are expected to share insights on advancing ASEAN’s battery ecosystem.

ABTC 2026 will also serve as a venue for several strategic partnerships aimed at accelerating battery innovation and commercialization. Planned agreements include collaborations between NanoMalaysia Berhad and The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) on energy storage development, GigaFactory Malaysia Sdn Bhd (GMSB) and Milan Utama for compact Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) prototypes, Infineon Technologies and Ampace, as well as Green Tenaga and Go Rental Singapore.

According to Ts. Dr. Nurul Akmaliah Bt Dzulkurnain, Chief Executive Officer of the International Battery Centre (IBC), the conference has become an important platform for ASEAN countries to strengthen collaboration across research, manufacturing, financing, safety, and deployment of battery technologies.

As ASEAN continues its transition toward clean energy and sustainable transportation, ABTC 2026 aims to strengthen regional cooperation across the entire battery value chain—from raw materials and battery cells to energy storage systems, recycling, and end-use applications—helping position the region as a globally competitive battery manufacturing and innovation hub.
