As more Filipinos maximize long weekends for quick international getaways, GCash is highlighting a suite of digital travel tools designed to make trips more convenient, connected, and financially secure.

At the center of the offering is GInsure Travel, which allows GCash users to purchase travel insurance directly through the GCash app. The GInsure Standard International Travel Protect package starts at ₱299 and can be purchased in as little as five minutes, including up to two hours before a scheduled flight.

Coverage includes up to ₱500,000 in Emergency Medical Assistance, ₱50,000 in Travel Inconvenience Benefit, ₱1 million in Personal Liability, and ₱1 million in Personal Accident coverage, subject to policy terms and conditions.

Travelers can access the insurance through the GCash app by going to Explore the App > GInsure > Travel, selecting their preferred coverage level, and confirming their details.

Digital tools for connected travel

Beyond insurance, GCash is also positioning its digital services as travel essentials for Filipinos heading overseas.

The GCash Travel eSIM provides mobile data connectivity in more than 160 countries, eliminating the need to replace a physical SIM when traveling abroad. Plans start at ₱25.

For overseas payments, GCash Scan to Pay enables users to scan Alipay+ QR codes, while GCash Tap to Pay provides contactless payment capabilities for eligible transactions.

Travelers can also use GCash Cards for larger purchases, ATM withdrawals, and international transactions, while monitoring their spending through the GCash app. The cards offer 0% forex fees, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

Together, these services demonstrate how digital financial platforms are expanding beyond everyday payments to provide an integrated travel experience—from purchasing insurance and staying connected to paying for goods and tracking expenses.

For Filipinos making the most of long weekends, GCash aims to reduce travel-related friction by putting insurance, connectivity, payments, and financial management in one digital ecosystem.
