Artificial intelligence is reshaping football strategy as Lenovo’s AI Factory powers FIFA AI Pro, an AI-driven knowledge assistant designed to give all 48 teams at the FIFA World Cup 2026 access to advanced match analysis previously available only to elite football nations.

Built on Lenovo’s xIQ agent platform, FIFA AI Pro functions as a Knowledge Super Agent that coordinates multiple AI agents to analyze millions of data points, evaluate more than 2,000 performance metrics, and generate insights, reports, animations, and tactical recommendations within minutes.
The AI platform aims to level the playing field by allowing smaller football nations to access the same depth of preparation and analysis traditionally reserved for wealthier teams. During the expanded 48-team tournament, several underdog teams delivered surprising performances, including debutants and lower-ranked nations competing against established football powers.
According to FIFA, FIFA AI Pro has helped teams accelerate match preparation by automating the process of searching, organizing, and interpreting large volumes of match data and video footage. This allows analysts and coaches to focus more on tactical decisions, performance improvement, and strategic planning.
“FIFA AI Pro at the FIFA World Cup 2026 has marked the beginning of a new era in match analysis and preparation,” said Arsène Wenger, noting that AI is helping experts spend less time processing information and more time applying insights on the field.
Developed through collaboration with football analysts and based on FIFA’s Football Language framework, FIFA AI Pro can understand multilingual queries, football terminology, synonyms, and complex tactical concepts. The platform goes beyond traditional statistics by performing multi-metric analysis, contextual reasoning, calculations, and analyst-style evaluations.
Lenovo said the technology reflects its “Smarter AI for All” vision by making advanced AI-powered tools accessible across the football ecosystem.
“FIFA AI Pro is the embodiment of Smarter AI for All; we are providing the same cutting-edge resources and analytical tools to all the teams competing at the FIFA World Cup,” said Ken Wong, Executive Vice President and President of Solutions & Services Group at Lenovo.
Beyond text-based responses, FIFA AI Pro provides football-specific visual tools, video clips from World Cup matches, and 3D match recreations, enabling teams to review plays from different perspectives and gain deeper tactical understanding.
The deployment of FIFA AI Pro highlights how AI is moving beyond automation into specialized decision-support systems, transforming how organizations analyze information, prepare strategies, and compete at the highest levels.
