Manulife China Bank Life Assurance Corporation (MCBL) brought together healthcare and financial experts at The Art of Longevity event to discuss how technology-driven healthcare solutions and long-term financial planning can help Filipinos prepare for longer, healthier lives.
Held on August 11, 2026, the event gathered more than 100 customers, bank partners, and financial sales associates to explore strategies for proactive health management, early disease detection, and financial resilience amid increasing life expectancy.
A key focus of the discussion was cancer prevention and early detection. MCBL cited studies showing that cancer remains one of the most feared diseases among Filipinos, while screening rates remain low, leading to many cases being diagnosed only in advanced stages.
To address this challenge, MCBL highlighted its partnership with healthcare technology company Guardant Health, providing eligible customers access to Shield™ Multi-Cancer Detection, a laboratory-developed blood test designed to help identify multiple types of cancer at earlier stages. The initiative aims to support preventive healthcare by leveraging advanced diagnostic technologies that can enable earlier intervention and treatment.
Healthcare partners including AC Health, Healthway Cancer Care Hospital, and Guardant Health discussed how innovations in cancer screening, coordinated care, and risk assessment are helping improve patient outcomes and support healthier aging.
Beyond healthcare, the event emphasized the growing importance of financial preparedness as Filipinos live longer and face evolving economic conditions. Through its bancassurance model, MCBL combines insurance protection, savings, and wealth-building solutions to help customers create long-term financial plans aligned with their life goals.
“Living longer is a gift, but it also requires more intentional planning so people can make the most of every stage of life,” said Amy Gochuico, President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife China Bank Life.
The initiative supports ManulifeMOVE, the company’s wellness program, and aligns with the broader goals of the Manulife Longevity Institute, which promotes research, innovation, and advocacy focused on helping people live longer, healthier, and more financially secure lives.
