Manulife China Bank Life (MCBL) is expanding access to advanced cancer screening solutions through ManulifeMOVE Cancer Care, a health program that will provide eligible customers with access to Guardant Health’s Shield™ multi-cancer detection (MCD) test.
The initiative, developed through Manulife’s exclusive partnership with precision oncology company Guardant Health, aims to support earlier cancer detection through a simple blood test. The Shield MCD test screens for multiple common cancers, helping individuals and healthcare providers make more informed decisions about prevention and treatment.
Manulife became the first insurer in Asia to offer the Shield MCD test to customers in Hong Kong, Singapore, and the Philippines. The program will also soon be available to more Manulife Philippines customers.
The healthcare initiative is powered by Manulife’s collaboration with AC Health and Healthway Cancer Care Hospital, the Philippines’ first dedicated comprehensive cancer hospital. The partnership combines insurance, precision health technology, and specialized cancer care to improve access to early detection and support patients throughout their cancer journey.

Guardant Health’s Shield MCD test uses a blood draw to screen for 10 common cancers and received Breakthrough Device Designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2025.
The program reflects a growing shift toward preventive healthcare, where digital health innovations, precision medicine, and data-driven screening tools are helping transform cancer care from reactive treatment to proactive management.
