Roblox has launched Family Zone, an interactive game designed to help parents and caregivers better understand the platform while promoting safer digital experiences for children.

Developed by Roblox and developer MindTrust, Family Zone uses co-play to teach families how Roblox works, including basic platform navigation, avatar controls, and parental safety settings. The experience aims to encourage conversations between parents and children about online safety through an engaging, hands-on approach.

The new game addresses a common challenge among families: while many parents allow children to play online games, some may be unfamiliar with the platforms, features, and safety tools available. By learning through gameplay, parents can gain firsthand experience and make more informed decisions about their children’s digital activities.

Family Zone also introduces parents to Roblox’s parental controls, including screen-time management, spending controls, connection settings, and tools for managing age-appropriate experiences. Players can earn exclusive avatar items by completing in-game tutorials.

Roblox said it is collaborating with global safety organizations and experts to expand Family Zone with additional educational content covering topics such as scam prevention, cyberbullying awareness, and recognizing unsafe online behavior.

With Family Zone, Roblox aims to make digital safety a shared family experience while helping parents and children build stronger understanding and trust in online spaces.
