Maya, the Philippines’ digital financial services platform, has received seven recognitions at the 2026 Stevie® Awards for Great Employers for using artificial intelligence (AI) and data-driven technology to improve recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, employer branding, and people leadership.

The awards highlight Maya’s use of an AI-first, data-first approach across its employee lifecycle, from attracting and hiring talent to creating more relevant workplace experiences. The company said its goal is not to replace human judgment but to reduce administrative friction, improve decision-making, and allow employees to focus on higher-value work.

In recruitment, Maya uses AI-assisted search to identify candidates based on relevant skills and experience, while AI-assisted outreach helps recruiters personalize communications. Hiring decisions remain with recruiters and business leaders.

Maya has also redesigned its employer branding and onboarding programs to give prospective employees clearer information about roles, expectations, and career opportunities. Its onboarding initiatives provide structured support from preboarding through integration, while employee engagement programs connect employees with customers, recognition, wellbeing, and the company’s broader purpose.

Maya Chief People Officer Carla G. Lanza said the company’s AI-first approach focuses on using technology to remove friction and support better decisions while maintaining human accountability.

Maya received a Silver Stevie Award for Experience-Driven Employer Branding, along with Bronze awards for Scaling High-Quality Hiring with Embedded AI, Engineering Engagement that Creates a BOLDER Culture, and Designing a Purpose-Driven, End-to-End Onboarding Experience at Scale.

Lanza also received a Silver Stevie Award for Chief Human Resources Officer of the Year. Andrea Agatha Pascual, Maya’s Employee Engagement Manager, received a Gold Stevie Award for Employee Engagement Professional of the Year, while Rose Ann Belangoy, Senior Lead for Payroll, received a Bronze Stevie Award for Benefits or Payroll Professional of the Year.

More than 160 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process, while winners in the Employer of the Year categories were selected through a combination of professional judges’ ratings and more than 178,000 public votes.

The recognition comes as Maya continues to expand the use of AI across its operations. Beyond human resources, AI is used in areas including customer acquisition, personalization, customer service, credit, fraud prevention, and business operations, with governance, security, and human oversight remaining central to its implementation.
