Epson’s new compact A4 duplex WorkForce DS-530III scanner delivers scan speeds of up to 40 pages per minute (ppm) or 80 images per minute (ipm), intelligent document protection, and optional hybrid flatbed flexibility for modern digital document workflows.

Epson has introduced the WorkForce DS-530III, a new A4 duplex sheet-fed color scanner designed to help businesses accelerate document digitization while improving scanning reliability and workflow efficiency.

The compact scanner combines high-speed performance, intelligent document protection, and flexible media handling for offices managing large volumes of physical documents.

Built for high-volume scanning

Measuring 296 x 169 x 176 mm, the DS-530III can scan at speeds of up to 40 pages per minute (ppm) or 80 images per minute (ipm), with a daily duty cycle of up to 6,500 pages.

Its automatic feeding mode supports continuous batch scanning of multiple documents, including mixed-size pages, allowing users to consolidate materials into a single digital file.

The scanner also features one-pass duplex scanning, capturing both sides of a document simultaneously to reduce processing time for double-sided documents.

Protection for sensitive and irregular documents

Epson has equipped the DS-530III with paper protection and Double Feed Detection Skip (DFDS) technology to detect abnormal feeding and help prevent document damage. The scanner can handle materials with staples, folds, and stickers.

A glass dirt detection feature alerts users when dirt is detected on the scanning glass, helping maintain image quality and reduce the need for rescanning.

For fragile and irregular-sized documents, the DS-530III supports carrier sheets and automatic carrier sheet detection. Ultrasonic sensors and length detection can also identify overlapping pages and long documents during scanning.

Optional flatbed expands scanning capabilities

Businesses can pair the DS-530III with an Epson Perfection V39II flatbed photo scanner through an optional flatbed dock. The hybrid configuration enables users to scan thicker materials, such as books, as well as fragile items including receipts.

This provides additional scanning flexibility while maintaining a compact office setup.

Software supports digital document workflows

The DS-530III comes with Epson Scan 2 and Document Capture Pro software.

Epson Scan 2 includes text enhancement, skew correction, and color optimization features, while built-in Optical Character Recognition (OCR) enables users to create searchable PDFs with password protection.

Document Capture Pro provides tools for organizing and separating files, automatically recognizing barcodes and blank pages, and creating up to 30 customized scan settings for repetitive workflows.

“As organizations deepen their digital transformation and document management processes, they need scanning solutions that combine speed, performance, reliability, and flexibility,” said Noelle Gonzalez, Head of Marketing and Customer Service, Epson Philippines Corporation (EPC).

Epson said the DS-530III expands its scanner portfolio to address the evolving document management requirements of businesses while reflecting its focus on precision engineering and user-focused technology.

Epson was ranked the No. 1 document scanner brand in 2025 based on unit shipments in the ASEAN region, according to the IDC Asia/Pacific Document Scanner Market Model, 2H 2025.
