PLDT Home has expanded its fiber network to Camotes Island, bringing high-speed broadband connectivity to households and communities in San Francisco, Poro, and Tudela, Cebu.
The expansion is part of PLDT’s efforts to extend digital infrastructure beyond major urban centers and help bridge the country’s connectivity gap. With fiber internet, residents can gain more reliable access to online education, remote work, digital services, e-commerce, and other applications supporting the digital economy.
Residents can subscribe to PLDT Home Fiber Unli All 1499, which offers unlimited fiber internet speeds of up to 200 Mbps, along with 63 Cignal channels, HBO Max Standard, selected unlimited calls, and 9GB of Smart mobile data that can be shared with up to three nominated Smart or TNT numbers.
According to Menardo “Butch” Jimenez Jr., Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer of PLDT Inc., extending fiber connectivity to island communities is about providing the digital infrastructure needed for families to participate more fully in the digital economy.
The rollout also supports local businesses and tourism by giving entrepreneurs and residents better tools to promote products, manage transactions, communicate with customers, and showcase Camotes Island to a wider audience.
PLDT Home is working with local government units and community partners in the three municipalities through information booths and community activities. The company is also engaging local agents and partners to support residents seeking fiber connectivity.
