PLDT Inc. and Smart Communications have introduced EVE (Emergency Vital Essentials), an agentic AI-powered emergency preparedness platform designed to help employees and their families create personalized disaster readiness plans before emergencies occur.
The AI solution analyzes location-based risks and generates customized preparedness recommendations based on each household’s unique needs, including medical conditions, mobility requirements, dietary considerations, and other factors that may affect emergency response.
According to PLDT and Smart, EVE enables employees to organize essential family information, conduct AI-powered home safety assessments, and run scenario-based simulations to strengthen preparedness and improve confidence during crises.
“Preparedness should not begin only when emergencies happen. It starts long before that, with awareness, planning, and making sure our people have the right tools to protect their families,” said Leo A. Gonzales, Vice President and Head of Property, Facilities, and Asset Resiliency Management for PLDT and Smart.
The platform also helps users identify potential hazards, access trusted information sources, and develop family communication and reunification plans for emergencies.
EVE complements Handa, PLDT and Smart’s existing mobile application that monitors employee safety and location during disasters. Together, the two digital solutions support both proactive preparedness and real-time emergency response, reinforcing the group’s broader disaster resilience strategy.
The initiative reflects PLDT and Smart’s continued investment in AI-driven technologies that enhance workforce safety while promoting a more resilient and disaster-ready Philippines.
