Rakuten Viki is strengthening its Chinese drama portfolio through its partnership with MangoTV with the release of Love for You, a new romance series that combines first love, family relationships, and a crime mystery, giving global audiences—including viewers in the Philippines—access to another premium C-drama.
The series is adapted from the bestselling Chinese web novel Wild Dog Bones (Ye Gou Gu Tou) and stars Song Weilong and Zhang Jingyi in their first on-screen pairing. The drama has attracted strong online interest ahead of its premiere, fueled by the popularity of its source material and the lead actors’ growing international fan base.
Set against the backdrop of the 1990s, Love for You follows Chen Yi and Miao Jing, whose childhood connection evolves into a story of love, separation, family secrets, and a decades-old criminal case. Directed by veteran filmmaker Liu Junjie, the series reflects the growing trend of Chinese dramas blending romance with deeper, cinematic storytelling.
The launch highlights Rakuten Viki’s continued investment in expanding Asian entertainment for global streaming audiences. According to the company, rising international demand for premium Chinese dramas has driven increased collaboration with major content providers such as MangoTV, enabling viewers to access more literary adaptations and high-production-value titles.
Beyond Love for You, Filipino viewers can also stream newly released Chinese series on Rakuten Viki, including Road to Success, Ancient Bracelet, How to Train Your Killer, and The Epoch of Miyu.
