Shopee and Meta have launched Affiliate Partnerships on Instagram, allowing eligible creators in the Philippines and several other markets across Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Brazil to monetize their content by promoting Shopee products directly through Instagram Reels and Feed posts.

The new feature enables creators to link their Shopee affiliate accounts with their Instagram professional accounts, tag commission-eligible products in content, and earn commissions when viewers complete qualifying purchases on Shopee.

The expansion follows the success of Facebook Affiliate Partnerships, introduced in 2025. As of March 2026, more than five million creators worldwide have connected their Facebook accounts to Shopee’s affiliate program, with nearly half joining the Shopee Affiliate Program for the first time through the Meta partnership.

According to Jack Ng, Head of Commercial at Shopee Philippines, expanding the program to Instagram reflects the growing role of creator-led content in online shopping, making it easier for consumers to discover products through the content they already engage with.

The integration also benefits Shopee sellers and brands by providing a new channel to reach highly engaged audiences through trusted creator recommendations, helping improve product discovery and conversion rates.

In addition, Meta and Shopee have begun testing Affiliate Ads in selected Southeast Asian markets. The feature allows sellers and brands, with a creator’s permission, to boost high-performing affiliate posts as clearly labeled paid advertisements using Meta’s advertising platform to reach more relevant audiences.

Meta said the initiative is designed to create more monetization opportunities for creators while helping businesses of all sizes leverage social commerce to connect with new customers.

The Instagram affiliate partnership is now available to eligible creators in the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Brazil. Both companies said account linking and affiliate data processing comply with applicable data privacy regulations, with creators retaining control over their connected accounts.
