More Filipinos can now access free cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) training as the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) partners with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to integrate industry-recognized digital courses into the TESDA Online Program (TOP).
TESDA and AWS formalized the partnership through a Strategic Training Agreement signed on September 29, 2026, giving Filipino learners access to cloud and AI courses designed to support employment, career development, and digital skills development.
Among the courses to be integrated into TOP are Fundamentals of AI, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, and AWS Certified AI Practitioner.
Fundamentals of AI introduces learners to core AI and machine learning concepts and does not require a technical background. The AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner course covers cloud services, security, architecture, and pricing, while the AWS Certified AI Practitioner course introduces applied AI, responsible AI, generative AI, and AWS AI services.
Free online learning
The training is available to Filipinos with access to the TESDA Online Program, with no course fees or prerequisites for courses offered through TOP.
Learners who complete certification-track courses may also have opportunities, subject to availability and eligibility requirements, to access AWS Academy learning pathways and potentially receive certification vouchers for AWS certification examinations.
AWS Philippines Country Manager Precious Lim said the partnership aims to remove cost and access barriers to cloud and AI education and make digital skills available to Filipinos at different stages of their careers.
The courses will be delivered through TESDA’s existing learning management system, allowing learners to access AWS content directly through TOP.
The collaboration builds on TESDA and AWS’s earlier work during the COVID-19 pandemic, when AWS supported the cloud deployment of TOP as demand for online learning increased.
TESDA also plans to expand the program with additional AWS courses covering cloud architecture, security, databases, and other technology areas, while developing industry-aligned training pathways and regional learning initiatives.
The partnership highlights the growing role of cloud computing and AI skills in workforce development, giving Filipino learners a free pathway to acquire globally relevant technology competencies.
