VITRO Inc. has announced that its flagship facility, VITRO Santa Rosa (VSR), has achieved the prestigious TIA-942 Rated 3 Facility Certification, validating its concurrently maintainable design with no single point of failure.
The certification was awarded following a comprehensive audit by Enterprise Products Integration (EPI), a globally accredited authority on data center standards. The recognition places VSR among a select group of facilities worldwide that meet stringent requirements for uptime, redundancy, and operational resilience.
Inaugurated in April 2025 by Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., VSR is the Philippines’ first AI-ready hyperscale data center. The 50-megawatt facility, located in Laguna’s growing tech corridor, is carrier-neutral and integrated with both domestic fiber networks and international submarine cable systems. It is designed to support mission-critical workloads for enterprises, hyperscalers, AI platforms, and government operations.
The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), which administers the TIA-942 standard, defines global benchmarks for data center reliability, security, and connectivity. Achieving a Rated 3 certification confirms that VSR’s infrastructure allows for continuous operation even during maintenance, with redundant systems ensuring uninterrupted service.
According to Victor S. Genuino, President and CEO of ePLDT and VITRO Inc., the milestone underscores the company’s commitment to delivering globally competitive infrastructure and positions the Philippines as a viable digital hub in the region.
Beyond certification, VSR is engineered for high resilience, capable of sustaining at least 72 hours of continuous operations through dedicated generator systems and fuel reserves. This level of reliability is critical for businesses requiring uninterrupted digital services, particularly in AI-driven and cloud-based environments.
With this latest achievement, VITRO Santa Rosa sets a new benchmark for hyperscale data centers in Southeast Asia, reinforcing the country’s push to attract digital investments and support next-generation technologies.
