AIA Philippines and its bancassurance joint venture, BPI AIA, secured four honors at the Insurance Asia Awards 2026, recognizing their efforts to expand access to insurance, healthcare, and financial protection through technology-driven and customer-focused initiatives.
AIA Philippines received awards in three categories: Health Insurance Initiative of the Year, Community Initiative of the Year, and Training & Development Initiative of the Year, while BPI AIA was recognized as Bancassurance Initiative of the Year.
AIA Philippines earned the Health Insurance Initiative award through MediCard, its healthcare arm, which offers an integrated health ecosystem designed to support Filipinos from prevention to recovery. The platform provides access to a nationwide network of more than 1,567 hospitals and clinics, helping improve healthcare accessibility and patient engagement.
The company’s EDGE (Early Development & Growth Experience) program won the Community Initiative of the Year award for preparing university students for careers in insurance and financial services. The internship program attracted more than 2,000 applicants and helped participants build financial literacy while gaining industry experience.
Meanwhile, AIA Philippines’ Grow@AIA learning program was recognized for its enterprise-wide workforce development strategy, equipping employees with skills aligned to evolving business and customer needs.
On the digital innovation front, BPI AIA received the Bancassurance Initiative of the Year award for integrating insurance products into the BPI Mobile App. The initiative allows customers to access protection solutions such as InstaProtect directly within their banking platform, making insurance more accessible and convenient through digital channels.
The recognition highlights the growing role of technology in transforming insurance delivery, enabling providers to reach more customers through digital platforms while improving healthcare access, financial inclusion, and customer engagement.
