Equinix is committing an additional $50 million to the Equinix Foundation, doubling its total investment in the organization four years after its launch and expanding efforts to improve digital access and workforce development worldwide.

The Equinix Foundation has awarded grants to 100 nonprofit partners across 48 metropolitan areas since 2022. In 2025 alone, its programs helped connect more than 3.5 million people to the internet, provided digital literacy and skills training to over 1.6 million people, and trained more than 900 people for digital infrastructure roles.

Building the digital workforce

The Foundation focuses on three areas: expanding connectivity and digital infrastructure, improving digital literacy and skills, and developing workforce pathways into data center and technology careers.

Equinix also appointed Aslıhan Güreşcier, VP for Growth and Emerging Markets, EMEA, as the Foundation’s new president. She will lead its next phase of expansion toward a more accessible and interconnected digital ecosystem.

One key initiative is Pathways to Tech, which introduces students ages 14 to 18 to data center careers through school visits, facility tours and educational activities. The program has reached more than 1,300 students across 24 locations worldwide.

The Foundation is partnering with the International Youth Foundation to develop a scalable model for expanding Pathways to Tech into additional markets.

Supporting digital inclusion in the Philippines

Among the Foundation’s partners is Kadakareer, a Philippines-based platform that helps underserved Filipino students pursue careers in the digital economy through coaching, skills training and employment pathways.

Equinix said its broader ecosystem approach brings together employees, nonprofits, customers and technology partners to address the digital divide while supporting sustainable infrastructure and next-generation data center technologies.
