Garmin has introduced the fēnix 9 and fēnix 9 Pro multisport GPS smartwatches, adding upgraded training tools, navigation features, displays, and battery performance for athletes and outdoor enthusiasts.
Both models introduce Garmin Epic, a feature in Garmin Connect that combines multiple activities recorded over days, weeks, or months into a single shareable story. Users can review health and performance data, add photos, and share their experiences.
Smarter training and navigation
The fēnix 9 adds new stamina tracking tools, including stamina zones and a stamina curve, designed to help athletes understand endurance changes based on training history and fitness gains.
The smartwatch also expands indoor rowing metrics with VO2 Max and power curve data, while enhanced rucking features allow users to adjust pack weight during activities, follow GORUCK workouts, and set targets with up to 100kg of pack weight.
Navigation gets an upgrade through built-in routable maps, a more powerful map engine, and 50% more RAM than the fēnix 8. Garmin says panning can be up to 30% faster, while a new perspective view provides additional map detail. With 64GB of storage, users can download twice as many maps as on the fēnix 8 and store up to 7,000 songs.
Titanium design and brighter display
The fēnix 9 Pro builds on the standard model with a titanium watch case, designed to combine durability with a lighter, thinner construction.
Its AMOLED display can reach up to 3,000 nits of brightness. The 51mm Pro model features Garmin’s first 1.5-inch AMOLED display, providing 15% more display area than the fēnix 8 without increasing the case size.
Select Pro models also feature solar charging for extended battery life, while the integrated LED flashlight gains a green-light mode designed to help preserve night vision.
The fēnix 9 will be available in 43mm, 47mm, and 51mm sizes. In the Philippines, pricing starts at PHP62,690, with up to 29 days of battery life in smartwatch mode on the largest model. The fēnix 9 Pro starts at PHP72,690, with up to 31 days of battery life, while select solar models can reach up to 57 days.
Both models will be available beginning September 16 through Garmin Brand Stores, Garmin Specialty Stores, and official e-commerce platforms. Pre-orders run from August 27 to September 10 at participating Garmin stores and Kinetic.
