Maya’s Corporate Football League team brings together employees from various functions and departments, reflecting the dynamic, people-centric culture behind the Philippines’ leading digital financial services platform.
Maya’s technology and business teams brought their cross-functional collaboration from the workplace to the football field, completing an unbeaten run to win the Corporate Division 3 Cup of the Corporate Football League 2026.
The championship team brought together employees from product development, engineering, technology, data science, consumer business, credit, enterprise, strategic partnerships, marketing, corporate affairs, and strategy and programs—the same groups involved in developing, operating, and supporting Maya’s digital financial services.
Maya defeated Shopee 3–1 in the final at Atleta ’63 Turf Field in Bridgetowne, Pasig City. The team finished the July-to-August tournament with a 9–0 record, scoring 31 goals while conceding just three.
The squad also secured wins against teams from UnionBank, Wells Fargo, Shopee, GCash, JPMorgan Chase, RCM, and Globe before beating UnionBank 2–0 in the semifinals.
For Maya, the cross-functional team reflects the collaborative environment behind its digital payments and banking products. Employees from different technology and business disciplines worked together on the field, mirroring the coordination required to deliver digital financial services.
Maya said employee engagement activities such as sports and shared-interest programs complement its broader people initiatives covering professional development, health and wellness, workplace safety, and employee engagement.
The Corporate Football League is an amateur competition featuring companies and organizations across various industries, with corporate, mixed open, and women’s categories.
