Shell Lubricants has been named the world’s number one best-selling global lubricants supplier for the 20th consecutive time, according to the latest Global Lubricants: Market Analysis and Assessment report from Kline & Company.

The report covers major lubricant-consuming markets, segments, product types, and formulations, with Shell retaining the top position across three categories: consumer automotive, commercial automotive, and industrial lubricants.

Shell said its continued market position reflects its focus on developing lubricant and fluid solutions designed to support friction and thermal management across automotive and industrial applications.

“Today’s award is not just about retention; it is about 20 years of intentional focus on building momentum for our business and our customers,” said Jason Wong, Global Executive Vice President of Shell Lubricants.

Wong added that Shell’s lubricant technologies have supported applications ranging from everyday vehicles and industrial operations to Formula 1 engines, while the company continues to develop solutions for future mobility and industrial requirements.

According to Annie Jarquin, VP of Energy at Kline & Company, the lubricants market has evolved significantly over the past two decades, with Shell’s position attributed to its combination of consistency, adaptability, and global reach.

The recognition highlights the continuing role of lubricant technology in managing friction, heat, and performance across transportation and industrial systems.
