2GO, the Philippines’ largest integrated transportation and logistics provider, is doubling down on connectivity as a driver of inclusive growth in Mindanao, outlining how its end-to-end freight, forwarding, and travel network is linking the region’s industries to national markets.

Speaking at the 35th Mindanao Business Conference in Cagayan de Oro City on August 12, 2GO Chief Operating Officer and CFO William Howell said connectivity is critical to unlocking Mindanao’s potential across agriculture, fisheries, energy, manufacturing, mining, exports, and tourism.

“When we talk about the future of the Philippine economy, Mindanao is not a peripheral story,” Howell said. “Connectivity is not merely about moving goods and passengers. It is about enabling commerce, expanding access, attracting investments, and strengthening communities.”

Four Pillars and an Integrated Tech-Enabled Network

Howell framed Mindanao’s advantage around four pillars — industry, growth engines, connectivity, and tourism — with logistics technology tying them together to move farmers to markets, manufacturers to customers, and exporters to gateways.

2GO detailed its current scale in Mindanao:

  • Forwarding Network: 93 distribution hubs and warehouses nationwide, 18 in Mindanao, handling ∼1.5 million packages or 150,000 transactions annually in the region
  • Sea Solutions: 20-port national network including Cagayan de Oro, Ozamiz, Butuan, Dipolog, Davao, General Santos, and Zamboanga; 2.5 million metric tons of cargo moved to, from, and within Mindanao in 2025
  • Specialized Logistics: Project logistics for large-scale developments, cold chain for agri and food products, e-commerce logistics, and cross-docking for faster fulfillment
  • 2GO Travel: 36 active passenger routes nationwide, 18 with Mindanao connections, and 37 weekly voyages linking Mindanao to Luzon and Visayas

The conference, held August 11-13 with the theme “Accelerating Inclusive Growth through Innovation and Sustainability: Bridging the Gap, Scaling the Future,” placed connectivity at the center of discussions on economic foresight, resilience, smart industrial development, energy transition, digital infrastructure, and MSME financing.

The company said its participation builds on earlier engagements with the Mindanao Development Authority and Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry to address supply chain challenges in the region.
