2GO, one of the Philippines’ leading transportation and logistics providers, convened business leaders, policymakers, and industry stakeholders in Cebu to discuss how stronger connectivity and modern supply chain networks can drive trade, tourism, and economic growth across Central Visayas.
Held in partnership with the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and coordinated with the Department of Economy, Planning and Development (DEPDev) Region VII, the forum focused on the role of integrated logistics and transportation infrastructure in supporting the region’s expanding economy.
During the event, 2GO emphasized the importance of collaboration between the private sector and government agencies to address logistics challenges and create solutions that improve the movement of goods and people. The company highlighted how enhanced connectivity can help businesses access markets more efficiently while making tourism destinations more accessible.
CCCI President Regan Rex King noted that improved connectivity strengthens supply chain resilience, accelerates trade activities, and opens new opportunities for businesses and tourism stakeholders. He stressed the need for cross-sector collaboration to sustain Cebu’s economic momentum.
The forum also featured an economic outlook from DEPDev Region VII, which underscored Central Visayas’ transition toward a more diversified and interconnected economy. The region ranked as the Philippines’ fourth-largest regional economy in 2025 and is expected to benefit from 90 Strategic High-Impact Projects (SHIPs) targeted for implementation in 2027, including initiatives aimed at modernizing transit and freight infrastructure.
An executive panel discussion explored strategies for strengthening connectivity across tourism, trade, and logistics sectors. Representatives from 2GO’s travel, forwarding, and sea solutions businesses shared insights on how integrated transportation networks can support regional development and improve supply chain efficiency.
