Philippine telco giant Globe Telecom announced that its GFiber Prepaid has surpassed 1 million subscribers, highlighting the growing demand for flexible and affordable fiber internet solutions among Filipino households.
The company said GFiber Prepaid recorded a 15% quarter-on-quarter subscriber growth, driven by increasing adoption of its no lock-up prepaid fiber model and higher-value reloads that boosted revenue in the prepaid broadband segment.
Designed to address rising living costs and connectivity needs, GFiber Prepaid allows families to access fiber-fast internet without long-term contracts. The service supports up to 15 connected devices simultaneously, enabling online learning, remote work, streaming, gaming, and digital communication within households.
According to Abigail Cardino, GFiber Prepaid has evolved into a “trusted everyday partner” for Filipino families seeking dependable internet connectivity with flexible payment options.
Globe said its expansion strategy focuses on “profitable density over geographic sprawl,” prioritizing sustainable growth and targeted customer acquisition instead of rapid nationwide expansion.
The telco also highlighted technology-enabled customer support services through the GlobeOne app, dedicated Viber support groups, and on-ground assistance via the Globe Care-avan initiative.
Among its latest offers, Globe now provides free upgrades to 300 Mbps speeds—six times faster than its previous 50 Mbps offering—for the same ₱699 installation fee with seven days of unlimited internet. Customers may also choose a 30-day 100 Mbps plan for ₱999 with free installation.
The milestone underscores the growing role of prepaid fiber technology in bridging digital access gaps and supporting hybrid lifestyles across the Philippines.
