Kia Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, has officially launched the fifth-generation Kia Sportage, bringing hybrid technology, advanced driver-assistance systems, and enhanced connectivity features to one of the country’s most recognizable compact SUVs.

The new Sportage marks a significant evolution for the model, which helped pioneer the compact SUV segment in the Philippines. Designed under Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy, the vehicle combines the brand’s signature Tiger Nose Grille, Star-Map LED lighting, and aerodynamic styling with modern utility features such as a Smart Power Tailgate.

At the heart of the new Sportage is a 1.6-liter turbocharged hybrid powertrain paired with a 1.49kWh lithium-ion battery. The system delivers a combined output of 235 PS and 367 Nm of torque, offering a balance of performance and fuel efficiency aimed at both urban and long-distance driving.

Inside, the SUV features a technology-focused cabin equipped with a 12.3-inch LCD infotainment display, Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, wireless smartphone charging, and premium audio options, including an available Harman Kardon sound system.

The Sportage also introduces a comprehensive suite of driver-assistance technologies through Kia DriveWise. Standard safety features across the lineup include cruise control, six airbags, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The top-tier SX variant adds advanced features such as Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Advanced Smart Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist.

Kia Philippines is offering the hybrid SUV in two variants. The EX variant is available at an introductory price of ₱1.898 million until the end of the month, while the premium SX variant starts at ₱2.098 million. Both models come with a five-year or 160,000-kilometer vehicle warranty and an eight-year/160,000-kilometer battery warranty.

Available in Heritage Blue, Wolf Grey, Snow White Pearl, and Gravity Grey, the new Sportage reflects the automotive industry’s broader shift toward electrified mobility and intelligent vehicle technologies.

According to Kia Philippines Managing Director Jay Lopez, the latest Sportage honors the model’s legacy while introducing sustainable hybrid technology, premium comfort, and smart mobility features designed for today’s drivers.

The launch underscores Kia’s continued investment in electrification and connected vehicle technologies as demand for hybrid vehicles grows in the Philippine market.
