Salmon Finance Earns Global Client Protection Certification for Responsible Digital Lending

Salmon Finance has achieved the Silver-level Client Protection Certification under the global Cerise+SPTF Client Protection Standards, marking a major milestone in the company’s push for responsible digital financial inclusion in the Philippines.

The certification was independently assessed by MicroFinanza Rating (MFR), an Italy-based global rating agency recognized by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas for microfinance institution assessments.

The recognition highlights Salmon’s commitment to transparent pricing, secure digital transactions, fair collection practices, anti-fraud protection, and customer-focused financial services as the company expands its lending operations nationwide.

According to Eunice Monsod, the certification confirms that client protection is embedded in Salmon’s operational model and reflects the company’s broader goal of delivering meaningful and trustworthy financial inclusion.

Cerise+SPTF also identified Salmon Finance as one of the world’s early adopters of the Digital Financial Services (DFS) Standards, a framework focused on managing the unique risks and responsibilities tied to digital finance platforms.

Based on official Cerise+SPTF data, fewer than 100 financial institutions worldwide currently hold a Client Protection Certification. Salmon Finance is also among only six active certified financial institutions in the Philippines.

The company said the recognition demonstrates that fintech growth and responsible lending can coexist while helping consumers gain safer access to formal credit services.
