Samsung Electronics Philippines Mobile Experience (MX) Head Kristine Go discusses the company’s continued commitment to connected wellness, highlighting how Samsung’s Galaxy ecosystem empowers users with intelligent fitness tracking, personalized health insights, and smarter recovery tools that support healthier lifestyles beyond race day.
Samsung Electronics Philippines highlighted the role of connected health technology and wearable innovation during the historic Galaxy Manila Marathon 2026, where 25,000 runners transformed EDSA into the country’s first full marathon route spanning the iconic highway from end to end.
Held from June 12 to 13 in celebration of Philippine Independence Day, the Galaxy Manila Marathon became the first marathon in the Philippines to feature a 42-kilometer course traversing EDSA. Organized in partnership with RUNRIO and SM Supermalls, the event brought together elite athletes, recreational runners, families, and fitness enthusiasts across 5KM, 10KM, 21KM, and 42KM race categories.
Beyond marking a milestone for Philippine running, the marathon served as Samsung’s platform to demonstrate how its latest Galaxy ecosystem supports fitness, recovery, and long-term wellness through intelligent wearable technology.
Galaxy Watch Lineup Powers Smarter Training
At the center of Samsung’s wellness showcase were the Galaxy Watch8, Galaxy Watch8 Classic, and Galaxy Watch Ultra, designed to provide personalized fitness coaching and deeper health insights for runners of all experience levels.

Among the latest features introduced was Running Coach, which delivers adaptive training plans and real-time guidance based on each user’s fitness level. Whether preparing for a first 5KM race or a full marathon, the feature aims to help users train more efficiently and safely.
Samsung also highlighted Energy Score, which analyzes physical and mental readiness to help users determine when to intensify training or prioritize recovery. Complementing this are the advanced BioActive Sensor and Antioxidant Index, offering health insights that extend beyond traditional activity tracking.
Together, these features reinforce Samsung’s vision of connected wellness by integrating health monitoring, recovery, and fitness coaching into a unified Galaxy ecosystem.
Capturing History with the Galaxy S26 Ultra
The event also showcased Samsung’s flagship smartphone imaging capabilities as renowned photographer Jilson Tiu documented the marathon using the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

His images captured the rare transformation of Metro Manila’s busiest highway into a pedestrian-only racecourse, highlighting the scale of the event and the energy shared by thousands of runners and supporters.
Samsung said the Galaxy S26 Ultra enabled Tiu to chronicle the marathon’s defining moments while demonstrating the smartphone’s advanced photography capabilities in dynamic, real-world conditions.
Connected Wellness Beyond Race Day
According to Samsung Electronics Philippines Mobile Experience (MX) Head Kristine Go, the Galaxy Manila Marathon reflects the company’s broader vision of encouraging healthier lifestyles through technology.

“The Galaxy Manila Marathon is a strong expression of Samsung’s vision for connected wellness, where technology and lifestyle intersect to inspire healthier, more intentional living,” Go said.
She added that Samsung’s Galaxy ecosystem is designed to support users beyond race day by helping them train smarter, recover better, and build sustainable wellness habits.
Supporting a Growing Running Community
The Galaxy Manila Marathon is part of Samsung’s broader Run with Galaxy initiative, which promotes movement, community engagement, and healthy living through technology-enabled experiences.
Supported by the Department of Tourism (DOT), the marathon featured routes certified by World Athletics and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), while also receiving sanction from the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATAFA).
Samsung also announced limited-time promotional pricing on select Galaxy wearables, offering discounts of up to 40% on the Galaxy Watch8 series, Galaxy Watch Ultra, and Galaxy Fit3, making its connected fitness ecosystem more accessible to consumers.
As wearable technology continues to evolve, Samsung positions its Galaxy ecosystem not only as a fitness companion but also as a platform for personalized health monitoring, intelligent coaching, and everyday wellness.
