Alibaba has announced a series of artificial intelligence milestones during the first half of 2026, highlighting significant advances in AI models, global cloud infrastructure, and enterprise applications as organizations increasingly adopt AI at scale.
The company strengthened its AI strategy by establishing the Alibaba Token Hub (ATH) Business Group, bringing together its major AI research, foundation model, and AI application teams under a unified organization led by Alibaba CEO Eddie Wu. The initiative is designed to accelerate the development and deployment of AI technologies across Alibaba’s ecosystem.
Among its latest innovations is Qwen3.7-Max, a next-generation large language model featuring advanced coding capabilities, complex reasoning, and long-horizon task execution. Alibaba also introduced HappyHorse 1.1, an upgraded AI video generation model for content creation, advertising, and gaming, alongside HappyOyster 1.0, an interactive world model designed for AI-powered films, games, and immersive digital experiences.
Alibaba also expanded the Qwen ecosystem with enhanced AI-powered products, including the upgraded Qwen App, which integrates services such as shopping, payments, travel, and navigation into a single conversational assistant. The company also unveiled Qwen Glasses, offering real-time translation, visual recognition, transcription, and voice-enabled services, as well as the Wukong Platform, an enterprise-grade AI agent platform built to automate complex business workflows.
To support growing AI demand, Alibaba Cloud expanded its global infrastructure by opening new data centers in Japan, Malaysia, France, and Mexico. The expansion brings Alibaba Cloud’s global network to 105 availability zones across 32 regions, strengthening its ability to provide secure, scalable, and enterprise-grade cloud and AI services while complying with regional data privacy and cybersecurity regulations.
Beyond enterprise AI, Alibaba continues to apply artificial intelligence to healthcare and agriculture. Its DAMO Academy introduced AI screening tools for early detection of fatty liver disease and colorectal cancer, while Alibaba Cloud partnered with Muyuan Group to develop an AI-powered livestock management platform using the Qwen large language model to improve breeding, nutrition, and farm operations.
The latest developments reinforce Alibaba’s strategy of combining proprietary AI models, cloud computing, custom chips, and enterprise applications to drive the next wave of AI-powered digital transformation across industries worldwide.
