Berde Renewables is accelerating the adoption of renewable energy in Southeast Asia through a strategic partnership that will deploy advanced solar and battery storage technologies across the Philippines and Thailand.

The leading energy developer, a portfolio company of I Squared Capital, has signed a Master Framework Agreement (MFA) with Sungrow Power and its authorized regional distributor Solar Hive to procure 200MW of solar inverters and 500MWh of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) over the next three years.

The agreement aims to support businesses transitioning to cleaner, more reliable, and cost-efficient energy while expanding access to next-generation renewable energy technologies.

Under the partnership, Berde Renewables will integrate Sungrow’s portfolio of solar inverters, battery energy storage systems, EV charging solutions, and smart energy technologies into projects across both markets. Solar Hive will provide regional logistics, spare parts, technical support, and after-sales services to ensure faster project deployment.

According to Berde Renewables CEO Patrick Zhu, the partnership strengthens the company’s ability to deliver clean energy projects at scale while marking a significant milestone for battery energy storage deployment in the Philippines, where demand for flexible and resilient power solutions continues to grow.

Beyond equipment supply, the three companies will collaborate on technical training, certification programs, market development initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and potential co-investment and vendor financing opportunities for future projects.

The partnership also enhances Berde’s renewable energy offerings under its Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) model, where the company finances, builds, owns, and operates solar facilities for customers before transferring ownership at the end of the contract. Combined with large-scale battery storage, the model enables businesses to reduce electricity costs while improving grid stability and supporting daytime-to-evening energy shifting.
