A key highlight of the event was the promotion of GCash’s Virtual US Account, a digital financial solution that allows freelancers to receive US dollar payments directly from US-based clients using dedicated routing and account numbers within the GCash app.

Attendees at GCash Freelancer Connect learn how to set up their GCash Virtual US Account, a feature that allows freelancers to receive USD payments directly from overseas clients. Creating an account is simple: open the GCash app and tap US Accounts under the Explore the App section, select Continue and verify your information, then complete the account creation process to start receiving and managing USD earnings seamlessly.
The feature aims to address common challenges faced by Filipino freelancers, including high transfer fees, hidden charges, and lengthy payment processing times. Users can receive USD payments, monitor their funds, and convert earnings to Philippine pesos when exchange rates are most favorable.
According to GCash, the Virtual US Account gives freelancers greater control over their earnings while providing access to other financial services available within the app, including bill payments, mobile load purchases, and wealth management tools.
As the country’s freelance economy continues to expand, digital payment innovations such as the Virtual US Account are helping Filipino remote workers participate more efficiently in the global digital marketplace while improving financial accessibility and convenience.
