Light Sail VR is using AMD Ryzen AI processors and AMD Radeon PRO graphics to power a local AI agent that streamlines production coordination while keeping sensitive client information under its control.

The virtual reality production studio, which works with Hollywood studios and technology companies under strict confidentiality agreements, turned to local AI to address the high costs of using frontier-level models and concerns about sharing confidential information with external services.

Led by founder and CEO Matthew Celia, the company developed an agentic production coordinator to manage project timelines, calendars, deadlines, meeting notes, and stakeholder updates. The system operates through Slack, allowing employees to request schedule changes and receive project status updates within their existing workflow.

Light Sail VR initially used a Framework desktop powered by an AMD Ryzen AI Max processor with 128GB of unified memory, enabling the team to run multiple AI models simultaneously. The company later added an AMD Radeon PRO R9700 graphics card to improve processing speed.

The AI agent automates previously manual tasks, including updating production documents, revising schedules in Google Sheets, and sending emails based on instructions from Slack. This allows the team to respond to changing deadlines without manually coordinating every adjustment.

According to Celia, the system has significantly increased his capacity to oversee multiple projects. Previously able to manage one or two jobs at a time, he now reports being able to handle six to nine projects with a comparable level of personal effort.

The studio is also exploring additional AI agents for story production and social media research. Potential applications include reviewing interview material, identifying repetitive or unclear comments, analyzing social media engagement, and flagging comments that may require moderation.

By running AI locally, Light Sail VR aims to balance automation and productivity with data privacy, while allowing its creative team to focus more on filmmaking and content development.

The implementation highlights how local AI infrastructure and agentic workflows can help smaller creative businesses manage complex production demands without compromising client confidentiality.

Light Sail VR creates immersive experiences for entertainment companies, technology brands, and agencies, including concert experiences at Red Rocks.

Light Sail VR uses an AI-powered production coordinator built on the AMD Ryzen AI Halo developer platform to manage its growing production workload more efficiently.

AMD-powered local AI helps Light Sail VR streamline production tasks, allowing its team to focus on creative work while improving efficiency and protecting sensitive client information.
