The Palawan Group of Companies (PGC) has partnered with AltPayNet to expand access to international remittance services, allowing beneficiaries in the Philippines to receive funds digitally through PalawanPay or over the counter at more than 3,800 Palawan Express Pera Padala (PEPP) branches nationwide.
The partnership aims to make cross-border money transfers more accessible and convenient by combining AltPayNet’s international remittance infrastructure with Palawan Group’s nationwide branch network and digital financial services.
According to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), personal remittances from overseas Filipinos reached US$39.62 billion in 2025, highlighting the continued importance of money sent home by Filipinos working abroad.
Through the collaboration, recipients can choose between receiving funds through the PalawanPay app or claiming them at a nearby PEPP branch. The arrangement supports Palawan Group’s “bricktech” approach, which combines physical service locations with digital platforms to broaden access to financial services.
“Through our partnership with AltPayNet, we are expanding our ability to connect more Filipinos to the support of their loved ones overseas,” said Lisa Castro-Sabado, chief business development officer of the Palawan Group of Companies. She added that the company aims to make remittance services more accessible, convenient, and reliable.
AltPayNet president and CEO DonVacal said the partnership would extend the reach of international remittance services through Palawan Group’s established financial network, helping more beneficiaries receive funds conveniently and securely.
Palawan for Business, led by its head, Missy Baldemor, will work with AltPayNet to facilitate the implementation of international remittance services across Palawan Group’s nationwide network.
By integrating international remittance infrastructure with branch-based and digital payment options, the partnership seeks to provide Filipino families with more ways to access financial support from relatives working overseas.
