Samsung Electronics has introduced its next-generation P Series portable SSDs, led by the P7, the company’s first 8TB portable SSD featuring USB4 connectivity and speeds of up to 4,000MB/s.

Unveiled at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany, the P7 is designed to address growing storage requirements driven by AI-generated content, ultra-high-resolution video, and large-scale games.

The portable SSD supports a wide range of devices, including PCs, laptops, smartphones, gaming consoles, and cameras. Samsung also highlights its durability, with the P7 completing 2-meter drop testing as well as shock and vibration testing for mobile use.

The P7 will be offered in 1TB, 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB capacities, with global availability beginning August 31. In the Philippines, Samsung said the P Series will arrive starting early November through its official Lazada and Shopee stores.

The launch underscores the growing role of high-speed portable storage as consumers and professionals handle increasingly large files from AI workloads, gaming, content creation, and high-resolution media.
