CIBI Information Inc. (CIBI), the Philippines’ first credit bureau, has been recognized among Asia’s Most Influential Companies at the ACES Awards 2026 for its expanding role in data intelligence, identity verification, and fraud prevention.
The recognition highlights CIBI’s evolution beyond traditional credit reporting into a data and intelligence partner supporting decision-making across lending, employment, business verification, and financial services.
As digital financing becomes increasingly interconnected, financial institutions face growing challenges involving credit risk, identity fraud, and business verification. CIBI addresses these concerns by combining credit information, alternative data, and scoring solutions to provide a broader view of potential borrowers.
As an accredited Special Assessing Entity (SAE) of the Credit Information Corporation (CIC), CIBI supports financial institutions in evaluating creditworthiness and making more informed lending decisions.
Since 2024, its data infrastructure has supported 10.1 million people new to credit, helping them establish credit profiles and gain visibility within the formal financial system.
“The challenge today is no longer gaining access to information. Institutions need to understand what the data is telling them and how they can use this to respond to risks,” said Pia Arellano, president and CEO of CIBI. She emphasized the importance of turning trusted data into actionable insights that enable more confident decision-making.
CIBI has also expanded its capabilities through initiatives such as CIBI University, the Fraud Intelligence Data Sharing (FIDS) Network, and workforce solutions. These programs address financial literacy, information sharing for fraud prevention, and employment-related verification needs.
The company works with organizations across the Philippine regulatory and financial ecosystem, including the CIC, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), and industry associations, to strengthen information sharing and help institutions identify emerging risks.
CIBI’s recognition underscores the growing role of data intelligence in strengthening financial services, improving fraud detection, and supporting broader financial inclusion in the Philippines.
