Converge ICT Solutions Inc. revealed that it blocked nearly 12 billion attempts to access websites containing harmful and illegal content in 2025 as part of its intensified cybersecurity and online child protection efforts.

The broadband and technology provider also blacklisted more than 72,000 domains and web addresses linked to prohibited online activities, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC), phishing, illegal gambling, terrorism-related content, and financial scams.

The initiative forms part of the company’s collaboration with the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), a UK-based nonprofit organization focused on removing child sexual abuse material from the internet. Since 2021, Converge has worked with the IWF to strengthen website filtering systems and improve network-level protection for users.

According to Andrew Malijan, Senior Vice President and Head of Cyber Security Services at Converge ICT Solutions Inc., cybercriminals are increasingly adopting sophisticated tactics to exploit internet users, prompting the company to maintain proactive defense measures.

Company data showed that the majority of blocked websites were associated with CSAM distribution and OSAEC-related activities. Converge also enforced restrictions against malicious links connected to phishing schemes, illegal gambling operations, voyeurism platforms, and extremist content.

The Internet Watch Foundation recently reported that commercial child sexual abuse websites monitored by the organization more than doubled to over 15,000 within a year, highlighting growing vulnerabilities in online security systems globally.

In addition to network filtering, Converge ICT Solutions Inc. continues to implement its Child Online Safeguarding Policy aimed at promoting a safer internet environment, particularly for children who remain vulnerable to cyber threats and online exploitation.

The company said its broader “Tech for Good” advocacy reinforces its commitment to ensuring digital connectivity remains secure, responsible, and socially beneficial.
